Sara Whiteshield - Director of the Walking Buffalo Woman Project

Amanda and her husband, Jake Dodson, became foster parents in the State of Oklahoma in January 2016, having 11 children come into their home for care to date. In January and February 2017, three young siblings came into their home and the Hills-Dodson family is now in the process of adopting the beautiful children they have tirelessly cared for in the past 3.5 years.

I was born and raised for 4 years in Denver, Colorado before moving to western Oklahoma where I currently reside. I have 5 children, Gertrude-Sara, Nellie-Jean, LaQuita, Daviani, and William plus one fur baby, Skittles. Philanthropy has always been an important part of my life and now, my children’s lives. I am a CASA volunteer, Chairman of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes Indian Education Committee, Chairman of Weatherford Public Schools Native American Parent Committee, Vice Chairman of Weatherford JOM Parent Committee, and member of the Weatherford Kiwanis Chapter. My children always take part in volunteering with me whenever they can! As a family, we enjoy traveling and attending cultural events.
